System Navigation
The Central Acquired Brain Injury Navigator is housed at CHIRS and assists professionals, caregivers, and individuals living with brain injuries to connect with services located in Toronto, York Region, and South Simcoe. Given their geographic coverage area, they also work closely with the Toronto Central Navigator and the Toronto ABI Network. In addition, they attend monthly meetings with Navigators from across Ontario helping to bring a provincial lens to their region.
ABI Navigators work with community support agencies, researchers, government, policy makers, and advocacy groups to provide support through:
- Education
- Resource Navigation
- Complex Case Coordination
- Identification of System Gaps and Barriers
If you require assistance outside of the regions listed above, please click HERE to access the Toronto ABI Network Contact Page to find the Navigator serving the area you are inquiring about.
Key Projects
The Central ABI Navigator has been instrumental in creating a holistic resource called THE CENTRAL LINK ABI Resource Library. The resource includes a wide-ranging collection of funded regional, provincial, and national resources for persons with an ABI, caregivers, and support professionals. In collaboration with other Navigators, the resource has expanded across all six Ontario Health Regions.
