Community Head Injury Resource Services (CHIRS) is an accredited leader in the provision of community-based support for individuals living with acquired brain injury. CHIRS has an international reputation for developing and implementing services for people living with co-occurring brain injury, substance use and mental health challenges.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
We are currently seeking a conscientious, detail oriented and highly organized Executive Assistant to join our team to replace our long-serving Executive Assistant who is retiring.
Job Schedule/Type: Full-time (40 hours per week); flexible schedule may include some evenings and weekends.
Job Region: Toronto

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Executive Assistant provides support to the CEO and Senior Management team. Administrative functions include but are not limited to composition and editing of a variety of documents, maintaining filing systems, preparation of reports and presentations, recording, transcription, and distribution of Board meeting minutes and maintaining CEO and Directors daily/weekly schedules.

Criteria:

  • Post secondary education in an administrative or related degree or diploma - CRM designation an asset;
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience supporting a Senior Executive in an administrative support capacity;
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and be flexible and responsive to last-minute requests and changes;
  • Proven ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and within set timeframes;
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain professional communication with external stakeholders, third party service providers and departmental staff;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive material and information in an appropriate and professional manner;
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel; social media savvy;
  • Use of a vehicle, vehicle insurance (minimum of $1 million liability coverage for at least 3 years) and a valid driver's license (G-class) with fewer than 3 infractions in the last 3 years;
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a recent and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Screening required.

Compensation: Competitive salary, group health/dental benefits and annual paid sick time entitlements after completion of probationary requirements.

Social Worker
We are currently seeking a talented, compassionate, and dedicated Social Worker to join our Clinical Team to replace our current Social Worker who is retiring.

Position Summary:

The Social Worker will join an experienced clinical team serving people living with acquired brain injury, problematic substance use and serious mental health disorders as well as their families. The incumbent will use their clinical skills in the areas of counselling, group facilitation, crisis management, staff training, and assessment. The incumbent will provide on-site supervision to Social Work students and will lead the agency's internal Ethics Committee and provide agency representation on the Community Ethics Network. The Social Worker will be part of a clinical team that includes Neuropsychologists and Occupational Therapists and will have opportunities to participate in clinical consultations, training, and program development.

Criteria:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) and a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW);
  • Minimum 5 years providing counselling and facilitating clinical/support groups to individuals and their families;
  • Experience working with individuals with neurocognitive/neurobehavioural challenges preferred; supervision and training will be available to the incumbent;
  • Proven ability to work with individuals who face barriers to accessing services as well as their families in a tactful, discrete, and sensitive manner;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community support systems, services, and resources;
  • Advanced assessment, crisis intervention and counselling skills, expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) an asset;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate counselling/treatment plans and to measure practice outcomes;
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and proven ability to provide social work consultation and training to staff teams;
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain communication with external service providers and department teams;
  • Excellent written (clinical notes, assessment, reports) and verbal communication, time management and organizational skills;
  • Solid computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel;
  • Use of a vehicle, vehicle insurance (minimum of $1 million liability coverage for at least 3 years) and a valid driver's license (G-class) with fewer than 3 infractions in the last 3 years;

Community Facilitators- Fulltime, Community Outreach and Adult Day Services

Requirements:

  • Degree/College Diploma in Social Services, Healthcare, Addictions, Mental Health or related field of study
  • Case management experience
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including some evening and weekends, as needed
  • Mental health and addictions experience (for the Community Outreach positions)
  • Recreation qualifications (for Adult Day Services positions)
  • Computer literate and strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Must have a valid G-class driver's licence for a minimum of 3 years and use of an insured vehicle with a minimum of $1 million liability coverage
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a clear vulnerable sector police screening required

Compensation:

$54,454.00 per annum plus a wage enhancement of $3.00 per hour for direct client support hours worked. Eligible for benefits after successful completion of probation (6 months from hire).



Residential Facilitator - Full time contract
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Pay Rate: $50,710 per annum

Requirements:

  • Degree/College Diploma in Social Services, Healthcare or related field of study
  • Previous work experience in a residential setting
  • Ability to work rotating day, afternoon and weekend shifts
  • Must have a valid G-class driver's licence for a minimum of 3 years and use of an insured vehicle with a minimum of $1 million liability coverage
  • Computer literate, strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a clear vulnerable sector police screening required
Eligible for two wage enhancements - $1.50 PSS allowance on all hours worked and $3.00 per hour permanent compensation enhancement on all direct hours worked.


Residential Facilitator - Regular Part-time

Location: Toronto, Ontario
Pay Rate: $22.21 per hour


Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Social Services field
  • Strong interpersonal and support skills
  • Minimum shift requirement - 1 weekend shift per week
  • Must have a valid G-class driver's licence for a minimum of 3 years and use of an insured vehicle with a minimum of $1 million liability coverage
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and a clear vulnerable sector police screening required
Eligible for two wage enhancements - $1.50 PSS allowance on all hours worked and $3.00 per hour permanent compensation enhancement on all direct hours worked.
